Natural Helpers

The Natural Helpers Program at Chesterton High School empowers students to support one another through peer-to-peer mentoring. In every school community, there are students who are naturally trusted, compassionate, and good listeners.

The Natural Helpers program identifies these students—through a school-wide survey—and invites them to participate in a specialized training retreat to strengthen their communication, leadership, and support skills.

These trained students become a vital resource within the school, offering informal support and guidance to their peers who may be struggling with personal, academic, or social challenges.

The Duneland Exchange Club is proud to support this powerful program. Each year, proceeds from our annual youth talent show go directly to funding the Natural Helpers training retreat—ensuring more students are equipped to lift each other up, one conversation at a time.
