Young Citizenship Award

Young Citizenship Award
Celebrating Character. Encouraging Future Leaders.
Because Character Counts at Every Age.

The Young Citizenship Award is one of the Duneland Exchange Club’s most meaningful programs. This award recognizes students who lead by example—not just in the classroom, but in everyday life.
Each year, the award is presented to:
-
One 4th grader from each elementary school
-
One 6th grader from each intermediate school
-
One 8th grader from each middle school, including St. Patrick’s School and Discovery Charter School
These students may not always be in the spotlight—but their character shines through in how they treat others, take responsibility, and contribute to their school and community.

What Does It Mean to Demonstrate Quality Conduct?

Young Citizenship Award recipients consistently show:
-
A willingness to help and make a positive difference
-
Responsibility and accountability for their actions
-
Participation in school and community service
-
Kindness, respect, and fairness toward others
-
Respect for rules at home, in school, and in the community
-
A positive attitude and strong effort in academics
-
Honesty, trustworthiness, and leadership
-
Good sportsmanship—whether they win or lose
These students are role models for their peers and a source of pride for their schools. The Duneland Exchange Club is honored to celebrate their example and encourage them to keep leading with integrity.
